John and I traveled to Asheville this weekend to get our marriage license (very official - they made us raise our right hands and repeat something... i can't remember what because i was a bit in shock at how official it was) and to finalize plans for the week of the wedding. I love Asheville! It is such a cool town.
We previewed the new Hotel Indigo (opening this week) and were blown away by the property. It is a hip addition to downtown Asheville. Great vibe - cool colors - and amazing views from the rooms. The mountains to downtown. This should be the perfect place to congregate. The hotel rooms range from 1 queen to 2 queens to king. Our room block rate is $149/night.
In addition - there are large (1500 to 2300 sq ft) condos on the top 2 floors available to rent. There are 2 bedroom condos available for $299/night - sleeps 4 (2 queen beds) and 3 bedrooms available for $599 - sleeps 6+ (2 queen beds and a queen sleeper sofa). These have fireplaces and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the surrounding mountains. We are staying in one of these... and all I can say about them is... AMAZING!
